Millions of Aussies are set for a soaking this weekend with a huge rain band stretching 2000km across the country and bringing a severe wet weather system with it.
The wet weather will stretch from the Kimberley region in northwest WA, through the centre of the country and down to the west of Victoria. A second rainband will stretch from far north Queensland to southern Queensland, including Brisbane.
Severe weather warnings have been issued for Western Australia, New South Wales, the ACT, Tasmania, and Victoria.

By Friday, Sydney’s run of warm days it has enjoyed earlier in the week will end, with a high chance of showers, with a strong wind warning issued for areas along the coast.
The rain will continue all weekend.
Melbourne will cop a bucketing on Friday and Saturday, but locals will get a reprieve when the skies clear on Sunday.
However, Queensland capital Brisbane will be hit by wet weather on Friday, on Saturday, with between 5mm and 20mm expected, and then again on Sunday.
Canberra is currently forecast for heavy rainfall on Friday, with up to 20mm expected in the nation’s capital. The city is set to clear on Saturday, with more rain due on Sunday.
And it will be rainy in Adelaide on Friday before easing a little on Saturday, with Sunday’s weather set to be “sunny” with “light winds”, according to the BoM.
Hobart will endure a bit of rain on Friday, but it is expected to clear for the weekend.
In Perth, heavy rainfall is predicted from Friday to Sunday, with the heaviest fall expected on Sunday, when 15mm to 45mm is forecast.
Darwin, meanwhile, will be dry all weekend, with top temperatures of 34C forecast.
