CONWAY, S.C. – Denzel Hines has signed with the Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball program with three years of eligibility remaining.

Denzel transfers to CCU from High Point University where he saw action in 24 games a season ago as a true freshman. He averaged over eight minutes per game and picked up a double-double against St. Andrews which helped him earn Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
He shot 38.5 percent on both his field goals and his three-point attempts and hit 64.3 percent on his free throws. The 6′-7″ forward grabbed 55 rebounds on the season and added three blocked shots and three steals.
Hines attended Colony High School where he was a two-time first-team all-league selection on the court. He was named the league MVP in basketball while also participating in track and field.
He played travel ball for West Coast Elite and Elev8. He was also a two-time Presidential Honor Roll recipient.
