Woman who decapitated her own mum admits to ANOTHER prison attack

Must read

A woman who cut her own mother’s head off in a frenzied attack has assaulted prison guards for a third time, tearing out their hair before defecating in her pants.

Jessica Camilleri was jailed for 16 years for brutally killing her mother Rita Camilleri, 59, in 2019.

The 30-year-old stabbed her mother over 100 times before dumping her severed head outside the family home in western Sydney.

Camilleri was found guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter in 2021, owing to ‘substantial’ mental health issues, and sentenced to 21 years behind bars.

A further 22 months were added to her jail time in September last year after she assaulted two prison guards at Silverwater Correctional Complex by ripping hair out of their scalp in 2021.

Now, Camilleri has pleaded guilty to assaulting two more guards at at Dillwynia Correctional Centre in March last year, reported The Daily Telegraph

On March 7, Camilleri approached a group of inmates who told her to ‘f*** off’, saying ‘we don’t want to speak to you, we know what you did’, according to agreed facts tendered to the court.

Observing this, a guard urged Camilleri to move away but she ignored their instructions, pleading for the inmates to speak to her.

The guard then placed a hand on her shoulder, which prompted Camilleri to lunge for her and grab her hair, before several officers tackled her to the ground.

At some stage during the attack, Camilleri defecated in her pants.

She refused to shower or change, instead begging staff to call her father with the plea: ‘Dad doesn’t want to speak to me anymore.’

While being assessed by a medical officer, Camilleri launched another attack.

A second officer attempted to intervene and had a clump of hair ripped out of her scalp by the inmate.

In CCTV footage of the incident, the guard can be heard yelling ‘let go’, with Camilleri shouting ‘call my dad’.

Camilleri then asked the officer: ‘Did I pull your hair out?’

‘I think I ripped it out, I’m sorry, I’m frustrated, I need Dad, Dad, Dad,’ Camilleri said.

She apologised again and blamed her actions on ‘frustration’.

Camilleri will return to Penrith District Court on June 20 for sentencing.
