On Friday, Sunrise reporter Liam Tapper was at Wetherill Park, explaining the incident.
“An 18-year-old female, red P-plate driver, she was driving along The Horsley Drive — it’s a very busy road through Western Sydney — around 11pm last night,” he said.
“She has collided with a tree. Now, she died instantly on scene, but she was driving with four passengers in her car.
‘They were all rushed to hospital, both to Westmead Hospital and Liverpool.”
“The male in the front passenger seat is in a critical condition this morning, all three in the back of the car have serious injuries.
“P-platers in NSW are only allowed to drive with one person in the car. She had four.”
Two males aged 16 and 17 and two females aged 17 and 19 were taken to Liverpool and Westmead hospitals for further treatment.
Sixteen people have lost their lives in just 13 days on NSW roads, and police are urging drivers to take care.
