50 aspirants conned on false promise of IAF jobs – Times of India

Hyderabad: Nearly 50 persons, who were aspiring to become employees of Indian Air Force (IAF), were conned by a man who collected 2 crore from them with a promise to provide jobs.The victims who are mostly from Qutbullapur, Pet Basheerabad and Jeedimetla approached police claiming that they lost money. The accused, K Santosh, who is a resident of Kompally, lured the local youth claiming that he could help them get jobs clerical jobs in IAF. Santosh claimed that “he himself is from the Armed Forces and has clout to get them jobs”.Police said the accused shared with them hall-tickets, made them sit for the exam and shared their appointment letters asking them to join the service on May 27.“Prior to that, we were taken to Gandhi Hospital, where he made us undergo medical check-up. He gave us appointment orders asking to report on May 27, but he went absconding on May 26 by locking his Kompally residence,’’ the complainants told the Cyberabad police.Each aspirant paid 6 lakh to 10 lakh to Santosh. Police said the accused had collected nearly 2 crore from the victims. The victims were shown ID card by the accused to make them believe that “he is a serving defence personnel.”
