A South Australian couple has taken their love for their grandkids to the next level, turning almost half of their property into an all-ages outdoor playground.

Featuring a pool, basketball hoop, inground trampoline, soccer pitch, sand pit and a playground with swig, slide, cargo net and rock climbing wall, the property at 22 Lipson Rd, Kadina is sure to entice game buyers looking to make a tree change.

The sprawling 2849sq m estate has been listed with a price guide of $1.1m, with the sale expected to set a new residential sales record for the small Yorke Peninsula country town.

The current record holder is a four-bedroom home at 34 Blackney Rd, which sold for $860,000 in June 2023.

Selling agent Brenton Brind of Wardle Co Real Estate, said buyer interest was already coming in strongly from nearby farming families looking for a family friendly home to call their own.

“The vendors are grandparents and created the space for their grandkids and great grandkids as they wanted them to have their own space on the property,” he said.

“All the play equipment is included in the sale, ensuring lifelong memories can be made.

“We’ve already had some good interest but, of course, when it comes to country properties in this price bracket, they don’t jump out of the woodwork.”

Mr Brind said the 2016-built home had been custom designed with family living in mind.

It features five bedrooms, including a large master with a private study and ensuite, two family bathrooms, two separate living areas and a central kitchen and dining area.

A sheltered alfresco area overlooks the sparkling inground swimming pool and also provides access to a two-car garage and shed with an attached workshop and games room.

The home also comes with a security system, a large rainwater tank and a 7.5kW solar system with 13kW battery storage.

“The vendors enjoyed living in the home and are selling to downsize,” Mr Brind said.

“So now it could be the ideal home to consider for farmers coming in (to town) and other nearby areas.

“You don’t find too many homes like this one in country areas, so it’s definitely a special one.”

Kadina is located approximately 144km north-northwest of Adelaide.

It has a median house price of $370,00, according to PropTrack, with property prices having jumped by 9.1 per cent over the past year.
