Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves could be facing a stint on the sidelines after being placed on report for an ugly high shot on Cowboys gun Tom Mikaele.
The incident avoided a penalty at the time, but referee Gerard Sutton ensured he’d come under the match review committee’s microscope after he was informed of the foul play by the Bunker.
Waerea-Hargreaves’ shoulder makes direct contact with Mikaele’s head, and Fox League’s Braith Anasta said “Jared could be in some big trouble here”.

Meanwhile, league legend Greg Alexander predicted the enforcer could be suspended for at least a “few weeks”.
“When you see that shot, that certainly does Jared no favours there. He left the field but was put on report when the Roosters were penalised,” he said.
“Nothing happened from this moment right there and then, but this one, that’s a few weeks.”
NRL icon Michael Ennis echoed Alexander’s opinion and explained how the ugly contact came about.

“He drops his head. It looks like he’s trying to launch into the back of Mikaele, but as he spins his position lowers,” Ennis said.
“While Jared has his head down, he is coming on that upward trajectory and hits him straight in the head. Lucky not to go to the sin bin.”
Waerea-Hargreaves left the field with a hamstring injury in the first half, and the severity of that injury remains to be seen.
