King and Whateley’s top four seeds after Round 12, 2024

Must read

David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 12 of the 2024 AFL season.

King and Whateley typically rank four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.

This week though, King did the exercise simply on who he believes are the four most likely teams to win the premiership. Whateley focused on the now and picked four teams that he feels are the best in the league as we speak.

King: “I’m playing this week as if you gave me $400 and I had four $100 bets on who was going to win the premiership this year.”

Whateley: “I’m much more hostage to the moment.”

The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.

See their seedings below:

KING

1. Sydney

2. Carlton

“Two are the blue baggers and they are genuine, they are real.

“In a very winnable year, they may have just come good at the right time.”

3. GWS

“Three are the Giants.

“The bye has come at a good time for them, they get a chance to recalibrate as they haven’t been themselves.

“Their stars are just getting warm and they’re a good price. I’m shopping for a little bit of value here again.”

4. Collingwood

“Collingwood are at four because I’m getting a good price on Collingwood right now.

“I’m a value type shopper, and when they get their numbers back – and they may be out of the eight when they return – but they will come with a run at some stage.”

WHATELEY

1. Sydney

“The one seed stayed in the stable.

“It was like the Caulfield Cup favourite who didn’t race while everything else drifted.”

2. Carlton

“I’m oversubscribed on Carlton and happy to be so. They’re at two.”

3. Essendon

“I’ve got Essendon at three.

“Carlton and Essendon flip positions for me ahead of Sunday night.”

4. Fremantle

“I’m putting Fremantle at four, I’m hostage to the moment.”
