A monochromatic mansion south of Brisbane has sold for more than $12m — setting a new sale price record for the suburb of Chandler.
Crowned Australia’s most popular home of 2023 by Realestate.com.au, the sprawling estate on 2ha known as ‘Stonebrook’ was first listed by JLL Asia Pacific Hotels & Hospitality Group chairman Mike Batchelor and his interior designer wife, Margie, with higher price hopes.

Tyson Clarke of Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty negotiated the sale of the six-bedroom property at 598 London Road, which he described as irreplaceable when it first hit the market almost a year ago.

The previous record for Chandler was set only a few months ago in November when another acreage property at 74 Bacton Road fetched $11m.

It comes as the latest PropTrack Home Price Index found Brisbane’s median house price has hit a fresh record to now sit just $70,000 shy of $1 million — cementing it in as the second most expensive capital city after Sydney.
