A toddler who went missing from his home has died after he was found unconscious in a dam.
The little boy went missing on Tuesday at 5.20pm from his home in Lara, a town located about 18km north east of Geelong, Victoria.
A widespread search for the boy was launched, which included officers on foot and assistance from the police Air Wing.
The toddler was tragically found unconscious in a dam off Windermere Road.
Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived but the boy could not be saved and he died at the scene.
Police have not released the age of the toddle or any other details surrounding the boys death.
An investigation into the exact circumstances of his death is ongoing.
