Vestiaire’s new partnership targets the biggest issue with resale

Although much of the fashion world is embracing resale wholeheartedly, buying pre-loved products is still often not quite as a slick a process as buying something new. One of the biggest issues facing these shoppers is sizing, and this is exactly what Vestiaire Collective is trying to tackle with its new partnership.

According to the site, over 65 per cent of returns on Vestiaire are down to fit, with customers often unable to determine if a piece of clothing is the right size for them. This can particularly be an issue with vintage collections as sizing has changed over time. For this reason, Vestiaire wants to help make it much easier for customers to have an item altered to fit them perfectly, and so has partnered with Sojo on a personalised tailoring service which is slick and straightforward to use.

Customers can now book directly through Vestiaire online or on the app to have their items altered, and the site is currently offering a 10 per cent discount for all first orders (just use the code VCFIRST10), giving shoppers a chance to try it out for less.

Of course, Sojo – which offers door-to-door tailoring services – is also available for repairs, meaning that sellers can have any issues with the item fixed, increasing the quality (and the price) of what they are selling on – and it means that buyers are getting something as good as new.

“Vestiaire Collective is dedicated to reducing environmental impact and prolonging the lifespan of quality garments, working alongside Sojo they are hoping to encourage customers to think pre-loved and to give garments a second life by repairing them to help find them the best new home,” the brand said.
