A young boy has been found dead after going missing from a property in a Victorian town.
The toddler was reported missing from a home in Lara, about 15 kilometres north-east of Geelong, about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
His disappearance sparked a major search in the area, which included a police helicopter.
Police confirmed the boy, whose age is unknown, was later found unconscious in a dam off Windermere Road.
The toddler was given CPR by police until paramedics arrived, but he could not be saved.
Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
