LIVE: Awkward homecoming facing Knights star

Must read

For Tamika Upton, game two is a chance for her to perform in front of a “home” crowd, after leading the Knights to the last two NRLW premierships.

Maroons assistant coach Nathan Cross said he had no doubts Novacastrians would stick it to the Maroons fullback, but said he had no doubt’s she will handle the pressure.

“She’s really looking forward to it,” he said.

“Tamika’s one of the best players in the game. Her footy IQ is like that of the men I’ve coached in my time, and she’ playing in front of what’s essentially her home crowd.

“She’s a cool cat – she doesn’t give much away, but we know she’s excited. We also know there’s a bit of a point to prove – not just from Tamika, but from everyone.”

The match at McDonald Jones Stadium is a sellout.
