Swan Hill racing tips

Race 1. (12:15) Bet365 Odds Drift Protector Maiden (1200m)

#9 – Nebuchadnezzar @ $1.70

The odds are short for the former Kiwi runner, but he should be awfully tough to beat.

The two-year-old son of Rageese ran second behind group-performed Archaic Smile on debut at Trentham, and that form has been franked.

He should beat this field without getting out of second gear.

Race 3. (13:25) Footts Swan Hill Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Warakurna @ $3.70

Warakurna is getting close to a win after consecutive second placings at Echuca and Wangaratta.

The three-year-old gelding by Lean Mean Machine was two lengths behind the winner last start, but he’s good enough to improve on that.

His odds have drifted, but we’re including him in selections.

Race 5. (14:35) Jarrod Arentz Electrical BM70 (1600m)

#2 – King’s Capital @ $2.25

King’s Capital is firing on all cylinders with three consecutive wins, so he should be tough to beat again.

The seven-year-old son of Animal Kingdom is a seven-time winner overall, and he’s having his first start at Swan Hill.

Given how this track plays, it should be right up his alley.

Race 7. (15:50) Pooles Accountants Golden Topaz (1200m)

#2 – Pintoff @ $12.00

Pintoff is a value runner at the price, and we’re happy to overlook his most recent effort.

The seven-year-old owns eight wins from 19 starts, so he can’t be overlooked in the feature race of the day.

Drawing wide makes it harder, but given the odds available, he’s well worth the risk.

Dubbo racing tips

Race 1. (12:25) Chill-Rite Maiden (1000m)

#3 – All Too Vegas @ $4.40

All Too Vegas looks to go one better than her two second placings to start her career.

The three-year-old filly by All Too Hard ran second at Gunnedah before placing at Tamworth, which is solid form.

Punters get better odds than we expected.

Race 2. (13:00) Aquawest BM82 (1000m)

#5 – Compelling Truth @ $2.05

Compelling Truth is the obvious favourite and we expect him to win another race.

The four-year-old owns four wins from 11 starts, including three wins and a second placing from four starts at Dubbo.

It’s tough to overlook his form and getting better than $2.00 is ideal.

Race 4. (14:10) Dubbo Plasterboard Maiden (1300m)

#2 – Dreambender @ $3.30

Form is with Dreambender, who started this preparation with placings at Tamworth and Scone.

Running third at Scone behind Conspirator is a good form guide for this level of racing and it’s only the draw that plays against him.

With luck from the draw, he should be going close to breaking through.

Race 5. (14:45) Dubbo RSL Country Classic Qualifier (1300m)

#1 – Christa @ $3.10

Form is with Christa, who started her career with consecutive wins before finishing fourth at Tuncurry.

The four-year-old mare by Epaulette gets all favours with 3kg off her back, and we expect her best form to return on Friday.

She draws wide, but she shows good barrier speed, and she could settle handy and show a good kick at the top of the straight.
