Swan Hill racing tips

Race 2. (12:10) The Federal Hotel Maiden (975m)

#4 – Revalene @ $1.95

Revalene didn’t fire at Flemington last time out, but this is a massive drop in class.

He looked much better running second at Cranbourne and Mornington, and his Mornington run came in BM70 grade.

The drop in class and the inside draw means he’ll be tough to beat.

Race 4. (13:20) Footts Swan Hill Demolition Maiden (1600m)

#2 – Late Arrival @ $3.40

Late Arrival ran well enough for second on debut at Geelong, which is a tidy form guide.

The Symon Wilde-trained son of Pierro needs a bit of luck from the wide draw, but he has time to find cover.

After opening at $3.80, money has come for him thick and fast.

Race 5. (13:55) Pooles Accountants BM70 (975m)

#4 – Jewel Bay @ $2.80

Jewel Bay looks to cap off consecutive second placings with a win, and this race is easier.

The three-year-old gelding by Cable Bay ran second at Caulfield and Sandown, and this is an easier race by some margin.

He only needs a touch of luck from the draw to win.

Race 8. (15:50) Swan Hill Cup (1600m)

#5 – Flash Flood @ $7.50

Flash Flood has been right around the mark this preparation, and he shouldn’t take long to get back to winning form.

The six-year-old gelding by Night of Thunder is a seven-time winner, and getting barrier two should see him go close.

Getting $7.50 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Taree racing tips

Race 2. (12:40) Stacks Law Firm Maiden (1262m)

#6 – Rum Diary

Rum Diary is getting close to a win after five consecutive placings to start his career.

The three-year-old son of Written By ran second in his only start at Taree, so that form stacks up nicely.

Barrier three is ideal, and money should come for him.

Race 4. (13:50) Glass Corey Brown Cup (1262m)

#6 – Oakfield Eagle

Oakfield Eagle comes off a win at Gosford before heading out of a spell.

The four-year-old son of Ribchester owns two wins and three placings from 12 starts, and getting in with 55kg helps.

Grant Buckley has a good association with the runner, so that’s a bonus.

Race 5. (14:25) Tab Maiden Handicap (1412m)

#2 – Namoi River

Namoi River turned his form around when running second in consecutive races.

The three-year-old son of Headwater ran second at Bathurst before placing at Kembla Grange, which is tidy form.

We expect money to come for him on race day.

Race 7. (15:45) Glass Wingham Cup (1614m)

#7 – Rebel’s Edge

Rebel’s Edge comes off consecutive second placings at Muswellbrook and Scone.

The five-year-old gelding by Rebel Dane owns a win and a placing from three attempts at Taree, which is ideal form.

Getting in with 55kg makes him tough to beat.
