Ferrari fined
An unusual incident took place with Charles Leclerc and Ferrari in the early stages of FP2, handing the team a chunky €5,000 fine for a breach of Article 30.5.L of the sporting regulations.

Villeneuve lashes out
Never one to mince his words, 1997 champion Jacques Villeneuve has launched a scathing attack on Daniel Ricciardo and his F1 career.
Villeneuve, working as a pundit for Sky Sports F1 this weekend at the track which carries his father’s name tore into Ricciardo, his record and career.

FIA explain X and Z modes
Meanwhile, away from the track, the new 2026 rules are continuing to be digested as various aspects of them are studied further.
Active aerodynamics will be featured on the new cars, with the FIA’s Jason Somerville explaining just how the so-called ‘X mode’ and ‘Z mode’ aero will actually work.
