Must read

Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, announced Wednesday that they have agreed to become major investors in Garage Beer.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kelce brothers are the largest investors in the independent light beer company, and it marks their first significant business venture together aside from their highly successful New Heights podcast:

Garage Beer is deeply tied to the Kelce brothers’ roots, as it was founded in Cincinnati, which is where Travis and Jason played college football before enjoying enormous success in the NFL.

In a press release, the Kelce brothers were referred to as significant investors, partners, owners, and operators, and Travis said the following about the new partnership:

“It comes down to quality for me. I think everyone knows I like to have a couple beers now and then, so being an owner of Garage Beer and heavily involved in making the best light beer is exciting, man! There is nothing better to bring people together than an ice-cold beer, and for Jason and me that is what beer is all about—friends, family and fun. I have worked with [Garage Beer co-owner] Andy [Sauer] for years and I really trust the team and their approach to running the business. We look forward to taking Garage Beer to the next level.”

Jason also commented on the decision to invest in Garage Beer, saying: “People crave quality and simplicity, and Garage Beer nails both for me. We are light beer drinkers and Garage is the best light beer. For me, the brand fits my lifestyle, and having a few beers is a great excuse to get the neighbors together.”

Linking up with the Kelce brothers figures to bring a ton of positive attention to Garage Beer given their status as two of the best players at their respective positions in NFL history.

During a 13-year NFL career spent entirely with the Eagles, Jason was a seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time First Team All-Pro and one-time Super Bowl champion, putting him in line for a potential future induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Travis is a nine-time Pro Bowler, four-time First Team All-Pro and three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, and his 11,328 career receiving yards are already fourth in NFL history among tight ends.

It also doesn’t hurt that Travis is dating one of the most popular musicians in the world in Taylor Swift, which could help Garage Beer appeal to an even wider demographic.

Garage Beer is already sold in 13 states, and with the Kelce brothers now in the fold, plans are in place to expand into “dozens” of additional states this year, per the press release.
