Jetstar passenger traumatised as horror discovery in suitcase sparks outrage

Must read

A Jetstar passenger has slammed the airline after she suffered a horrifying ordeal upon discovering what was inside her suitcase after a flight from Bali to Adelaide.

There are reports a Jetstar plane has veered off the runway at Christchurch Airport in New Zealand.

There are no reports of injuries at this stage.

Sky News understands the incident happened as flight JQ225 landed in Christchurch from Auckland.

Ella Hudson expressed outrage on Monday when she uploaded a video to social media platform TikTok showing her soaked suitcase after arriving home in Adelaide about 6pm from a Jetstar flight to Bali.

Clips in the bizarre video showed Ms Hudson’s new clothes soaked with water as bright colours had stained them while they travelled in her now water-logged and mould-attracting suitcase.

“Jetstar please explain???” she wrote on the video. “I’m so upset!”

“Our luggage is soaked! My new suitcase now smells/ will probably go mouldy and everything it is either wet or damaged. Like it had been sitting carelessly in the rain.”

Ms Hudon expressed frustration as she held up a crisp white skirt which was visibly drenched and stained with a murky yellow shade.

“I only just bought this skirt,” she said.

“Jewellery box now has water damage,” she added, showing a flimsy waterlogged case which she said was once solid.

She said, “nothing in our luggage was dry” or “how I originally packed it” and “heaps of fabrics leaked due to clothes being wet, so a lot of our items have been damaged”.

The viral video, in which Ms Hudson tagged Jetstar, attracted an angry entourage of other travellers who claimed they too experienced an unfortunate suitcase drenching.

“I’ve had this before with Qantas,” one person said.

Another person noted “this happened” to them when they landed in Sydney and “opened” their bag to discover water “all over my handbags”.

“This happened to my colleague and hers was soaked in what smelled like fish sauce… never again did she use a fabric luggage bag,” said one more person.

Other people took Ms Hudon’s disastrous flying experience as chance to reiterate their preference for hard shell suitcases as way of curbing such a blunder.

“This is my biggest fear and exactly why i refuse to use fabric suitcases 🙁 I hope they compensate you!” said one person.

“Is this my sign to buy waterproof packing cubes for my suitcase for the next time I fly,” questioned another.

A Jetstar spokesman has since apologised for the unpleasant incident.

“We were really sorry to see what happened,” they said.

“Our customer care team has reached to Ms Hudson to discuss what further support we can provide.”
