A small venue just 20 minutes from the CBD has been named Perth’s best burger joint.
Ryan John Kitchen — or as the locals call it, RJS — in Heathridge took out the prestigious title after thousands voted in 92.9 Triple M’s ‘Best of Perth’ competition.
The burger category received the most votes of any category so far, with Soder Burger in Lesmurdie and Burger Freak in Belmont following closely behind the winner.
The venue — which was founded in 2017 — has attracted a very loyal customer base since its opening seven years ago.
“Our customers are like Swifties, they are very, very loyal,” owner and chef Ryan John told breakfast hosts Xav & Michelle.
Mr John revealed the feel-good story behind the name of their best-selling burger — a breakfast burger called The Luke Special.
“Luke was a tradie that used to come in and said, ‘if you put all these ingredients on a burger, I’ll come and order one every single day!’ and he did. Then everyone else cottoned on as well!”
They also have a burger named after one of the world’s most famous popstars — Jennifer Lopez.
The J-Lo is said to taste like “a Philly Cheesesteak made sweet love to a sexy Latino lady in a green dress!”.
Not only is the eatery good to its customers, but it also runs a charity initiative to help the homeless community and families in need.
The initiative — Buy a Burger for a Battler — has already helped to feed more than 5000 people.
For being crowned Perth’s best burgers, Ryan John Kitchen has won an advertising package from 92.9 Triple M.
