Conor McGregor‘s much-anticipated return to the UFC has been cancelled.
The former two-division champion was scheduled to take on Michael Chandler in the main event of UFC 303 on June 30 (AEST) but has withdrawn due to injury, according to UFC president Dana White.
Instead, the main event will now see Alex Pereira defend his UFC light heavyweight title against JiYi Prochazka.

McGregor, who is 22-6, was set to return to the competition for the first time since he broke his leg in a brutal loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
The 35-year-old has only fought four times since his feature boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017.
The announcement marks the first time McGregor has withdrawn from an event for any reason in his famed UFC career.
White revealed the sell-out event was on track to set a record for the UFC, with the event live gate making over $30 million AUD.
The UFC has yet to announce whether the non-title welterweight fight between McGregor and Chandler will be rescheduled.
