Seymour racing tips

Race 1. (11:55) Bet365 Maiden Plate (1000m)

#6 – Joon Ho @ $3.40

Joon Ho is getting awfully close to a win after posting five placings from five career starts.

The four-year-old gelding by Jimmy Creed comes off a second placing at Mornington, and anything close to that is good enough.

Getting 2kg off his back adds to his appeal.

Race 2. (12:25) Trawool Estate Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Flying Mean @ $2.40

Flying Mean is another runner getting close to scoring a maiden win, and we’re happy with the odds.

The three-year-old son of Lean Mean Machine owns four placings from five starts, including a second at Cranbourne last time out.

He’s heading in the right direction, so include him.

Race 4. (13:35) Godolphin Lifetime Care Maiden (1411m)

#13 – Suances @ $2.70

Suances ran third on debut at Mornington before placing at Cranbourne last time out, which is solid form.

The three-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun hit the line well enough to suggest rising in distance would be right up her alley.

The odds are likely to firm on race day.

Race 6. (14:45) Phil Jarvis 80th BM64 (1411m)

#2 – Magical Land @ $20.00

Magical Land is better for two runs back from a spell, including a fresh up third placing at Cranbourne.

The six-year-old is only a one-time winner from 19 starts, but he also owns 10 placings, including four over this distance.

Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him run close at big odds.

Coonanble racing tips

Race 1. (12:35) Coonamble Roadhouse Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Singing Star @ $2.05

Singing Star won well on debut at Dubbo when scoring by 2.3 lengths, and she wasn’t far away last time out.

The two-year-old filly by Star Turn then finished second at Dubbo as a $2.60 chance, but she has every chance to win here.

We expect her to start around the $2.05 price, so include her in horse racing multis.

Race 3. (13:45) McKeowns Electrical Maiden (1200m)

#9 – Palentino Swinger @ $5.00

Palentino Swinger isn’t far off a winning run following two placings from three career starts.

The three-year-old filly by Palentino scored those placings at Dubbo, which usually stacks up well for racing at Coonamble.

The each-way odds are better than we expected for this field.

Race 5. (14:55) Swanny’s Foods C1 (1300m)

#2 – Fioprospero @ $3.10

Fioprospero has a fresh up win on his record, so he could hit the ground running this preparation.

The three-year-old gelding by Fiorente ran second at Newcastle in his most recent run before spelling, before being given a soft trial.

There isn’t much depth to this field, and he could take advantage.

Race 6. (15:30) Northwest Engineering BM58 (1600m)

#5 – Blue Steel @ $5.50

Blue Steel won well at Quirindi two back before placing last time out at Gunnedah.

The three-year-old son of Real Steel is bred to enjoy more racing under his belt, and getting the inside draw is a bonus.

Punters should expect another tough effort at each-way odds.
