Must read

Ahead of the release of Madden NFL 25 in August, EA Sports revealed several of the video game’s new features on Friday.

One of the biggest additions to this year’s game is BOOM Tech, which EA called a “dynamic physics-based tackling system that unlocks the reengineered Hit Stick and a new level of ball carrier control” in its official press release:

EA Sports also introduced new commentary teams for Madden 25 in the form of Mike Tirico and Greg Olsen, as well as Kate Scott and Brock Huard.

Madden NFL 25 will be released worldwide for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC on Aug. 16, but those who purchase the deluxe edition or the MVP bundle can begin playing on Aug. 13.

Madden Senior Production Director Mike Mahar discussed the inclusion of BOOM Tech in Madden NFL 25 and how it will enhance the overall experience and presentation, saying:

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to grow the Madden NFL experience alongside our players the past two years, and we’re excited to deliver even more of the control, depth and immersion they’re looking for in Madden NFL 25. BOOM Tech has been multiple years in the making and represents the most impactful FieldSENSE improvement yet, and combined with a new audio and visual experience across the game plus deepened modes and increased customization, Madden NFL 25 will look, feel and sound different.”

Among the improvements EA Sports is touting thanks to BOOM Tech are a physics-based tackling engine, a “reloaded” Hit Stick that will yield more realistic hits based on timing and ball carrier control, which will make for a more satisfying and realistic experience while pounding the rock.

EA Sports is also promoting enhancements to the game presentation thanks in large part to the new commentary teams, as well as Superstar Mode, Ultimate Team and online head-to-head play.

One of the most exciting upgrades is for gamers who enjoy Franchise Mode, as Madden NFL 25 will feature a “rebuilt NFL draft night experience,” which includes NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Football and Madden fans will get an even better understanding of Madden NFL 25’s new features on Tuesday when the official reveal trailer is released.
