Gal hits back at ‘desperate’ Hall amid comeback report

Must read

Paul Gallen has described AFL icon turned boxer Barry Hall as “desperate” after reports emerged the former Sharks captain could return to the ring.

Hall was quoted by News Corp stating he wants to fight Gallen again after their 2019 draw while No Limit boss George Rose also said he’d look to make it happen if Hall beat Curtis Scott.

However, Gallen has hit back, stating he has no intent of returning for a fight with Hall.

“It’s not true, it’s absolute garbage,” he said on 2GB’s Continuous Call Team.

“I didn’t even know about it until this morning, I was in Melbourne yesterday, it’s rubbish.

“It’s Barry Hall, he wants a rematch, he’ll get knocked out by Curtis Scott, that’s three fights, not one win. He’s going nowhere.

“As I said, he’s a desperate, 47 years of age, fighting for maybe 20 or 30 grand, why would you bother?

“It’s not true, I haven’t had a discussion with anyone and it won’t be happening.

“It would cost them lots and lots of money to get me out of retirement.”

Asked by Darryl Brohman if he’d return for the right price, Gallen was firm in his reply.

“It’d be a big price,” he said.

Gallen’s last fight was against Justin Hodges when he won by unanimous decision on November 23, 2022.
