Warriors lose both wingers to the sin bin as Storm extend their lead: NRL LIVE

Must read

Both Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Marcelo Montoya have been sent to the sin bin as the Storm extend their lead over the Warriors to 32-18 with 15 to go in the second half.

In the 53rd minute Montoya was sent to the bin by referee Gerard Sutton for a professional foul. Seven minutes later, DWZ joined his fellow winger after an off the ball high shot on Storm centre Grant Anderson.

In both of the sets following the sin bins, Melbourne scored. First through fullback Sua Faalogo, who broke down the Warriors right edge for his first try of the night – and injured his shoulder in doing so.

Then in the set following Watene-Zelezniak’s binning saw Harry Grant’s grubber collected in the in goal by Xavier Coates, with Nick Meaney’s conversion blowing the score out to 32-18.

The sin bins sum up the night for the Warriors, who started fast in both halves but faded and allowed the Storm to wrestle their way in front.

Melbourne halfback Jahrome Hughes has been excellent for his side, setting up three tries and creating two line breaks for his teammates.

Fox League’s Corey Parker has been singing the New Zealand international’s praises on commentary.

“Hughes is single handedly picking apart the defensive line of the Warriors,” Parker said.
