Tim Smith has posted o his social media to declare that he is not prepared to explain why he and former Married at First Sight bride Lucinda Light have severed ties.
The pair, who split before making their final commitment on the hit series, appeared to be close after filming ended a year ago.
But earlier this week the reality stars made headlines after they unfollowed each other on Instagram sending MAFS fans into a frenzy of speculation.
The pair also have been untagged in the photos they share together on their respective accounts, suggesting they may have also blocked one another.
And on Saturday Tim sought to untangle any misunderstandings and address rumours of a lasting rift between himself and fan favourite Lucinda.
In a surprising twist he told his followers on Instagram that he was going to keep ‘why’ the former bride and groom unfollowed each other ‘private’.
‘We sign up on a contract [on MAFS] where you get to see everything in our life, nothing is off limits,’ he said in his lengthy video which he also posted on his TikTok.
‘That’s the authenticity, If you stick with it, and let every one see everything the show can be a really positive thing.’
After explaining that many of the cast has headed off to ‘form different circles’ they have lost touch.
‘So what ever has happened behind the scenes, I’m always going to keep that private,’ he continued.
‘And in regards to the on line articles about jealousy and about this and that they are all off the mark.
‘But in saying that I will keep ‘why’ [he and Lucinda split] private. There’s only three or four people that know. And that’s where I’m going to leave it.
‘I wish Lu all the best in the future and there is no question sometimes peoples paths take different directions. And that’s where it is.
‘I funnily enough wish everyone the best in the future. We filmed a TV show and it was a lot of fun.’
Tim stirred further controversy last weekend over his unfollowing of Lucinda when he posted a TikTok video, urging his own fans to cut ties with people who don’t ‘respect’ their time.
On Saturday the entrepreneur said the comment was in reference to his business dealings.

‘Get rid of them. Time is the most valuable commodity that we have.
‘We give it out so flippantly for free, and if you don’t respect it and appreciate it, then get rid of them.’
He went on to tell his followers they shouldn’t ‘let anyone waste one minute of your life and time because if they don’t respect it, they don’t deserve to have it’.
Meanwhile, Lucinda, 43, addressed the apparent falling out on Wednesday when a fan asked whether she and Tim still speak.
‘Doors and arms always open to Tim,’ the celebrant said in response to the follower in her comments.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to both Lucinda and Tim for comment.
