ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Children ranging from five to 13 years old took the field at the RCTC Regional Stadium today for a youth football camp hosted by the Yellowjackets.

Coaches walked players through drills in tackling, catching and kicking throughout the morning, finishing with a game of two-hand touch football.

“We love the kids,” RCTC head football coach Terrence Isaac said. “I think it starts at an early age, and you start with the fundamentals and just getting more kids involved.”

Along with learning tangible aspects to help them improve their game, Isaac also wanted camp participants to enjoy themselves.

“It’s just a great opportunity for the kids to come out, learn a little bit of football, have fun. Some parents got involved in it, so that made it extra special,” Isaac said.

Orieon was one of the camp members who had fun at the Saturday morning program. He said his favorite part of the day was “learning how to catch the ball,” as well as playing in scrimmages. He wants to be a receiver, which is part of what he said is his favorite part of football.

“You catch it, and then you start running, and then you break some ankles.”

The camp is one of four that RCTC will hold this summer. Isaac said all children are welcome.
