Two Aussie beaches — including one in WA — have made Big 7 Travel’s list of top 50 best beaches in the world.
Broome’s famous Cable Beach, which is known for its beautiful sunsets and camel rides, came in at number 12.
“Remote Kimberley in Western Australia is renowned for its brilliant blue waters and endless sandy stretches, but it’s always been hard to reach,” Big 7 Travel wrote.
“This year, it’s set to become much easier to explore the region thanks to an influx of cruise lines. There are hundreds of beautiful beaches to explore, but Cable Beach is the best.
“Take a ride on the camel train or hop on a boat trip as the sun sinks below the horizon for the best views.”
Just last month, the Shire of Broome secured a substantial $26.3 million grant from the Federal Government to help with the transformation of Cable Beach.
Among the redevelopments is the planned creation of a community plaza and a scenic lookout area offering views over the dunes.
Additionally, the amphitheatre at the northern end of the precinct will undergo alterations to better accommodate large-scale events and optimise views of Cable Beach’s celebrated sunsets.
Coming in at two on the list was Kangaroo Island’s Stokes Bay Beach.
Beating nearly all other beaches in the world, Big 7 Tavel said this stretch of sand was a must-visit in 2024.
“With its shimmering rock pools, cliffside location and sparkling turquoise waters, is by far one of the most beautiful.
“Getting here is half the fun too; the beach is accessible via a hidden rock tunnel.
“For those seeking adventures, the rolling waves provide ample opportunities for good surf, while the giant protected rockpool provides a safe shallow area for little ones to swim and snorkel.”
