A prominent Subiaco hair salon — once visited by Hollywood star Kate Walsh — has suddenly closed the doors to its venue after seven years.
Paris Rose Hair Artistry announced the shock closure on Monday, with owner Paris Hart saying her “priorities have shifted” since she welcomed her daughter into the world.
“After an unforgettable seven years at our beautiful Subi salon, I’ve decided it’s time to end this chapter,” she said in an Instagram post.
“After welcoming our daughter Billie into the world four months ago, my mindset and priorities have shifted.
“With my beautiful baby girl refusing the bottle, it has made it nearly impossible to return to work and give my salon the dedication, training and ongoing upskilling that I’ve prided my business on for the past seven years.“So, with that, I have decided to shut the doors to my first baby on the 30th of June.”
She said the decision was not easy to make but that she was excited to spend more time with her daughter.
Ms Hart thanked her clients and her team for their unwavering support over the years and for understanding why she had to make the difficult decision.
Ms Hart told her loyal customers that they won’t be losing her forever, with the salon owner set to open a new space in January 2025.
“I’ll be back to provide a personalised luxury one-on-one service when I open my new space closer to home.”
The announcement comes just two weeks after neighbouring venue, Olive + July announced it was shutting down.
Despite begging to stay at the busy location, the beauty clinic was forced to say “goodbye to their beautiful space” because the landlord was selling the premises and not looking to extend their lease.
Founder and owner of the clinic, Chloe Sherrell, said at the time that the small family business was not prepared to undergo another salon fit-out.
“With having a young child and hopefully expanding our family in the near future, we felt it is not the right time.”
