Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revealed his favourite Perth pub while on a visit to WA with China’s Premier Li Qiang.

Discussing his trip with 92.9 Triple M’s Xav and Michelle, Albanese heaped praise on Perth’s stunning landscapes.

“Yesterday that footage of myself and Premier Li in Kings park with the beautiful Swan River in the background and the Perth skyline — that would have been seen by over a billion people in China,” he told the radio hosts.

“That’s like the best ad you could possibly have saying ‘come to Perth! Bring with it your money, create jobs here in hospitality. It’s a real economic boost as well.”

The PM then revealed he tucked into some Rock Lobster and “good” Margaret River wine while he dined at The Westin for lunch.

Albanese was asked where his favourite venue in Perth is to sink some beers.

“Down at Freo, I think it’s called Clancy’s, I’ve been there a few times with Josh Wilson, it’s a pretty good pub! There’s a lot of good pubs in Freo!” Albanese said.

“Gage Roads is awesome, I did an event there a year ago… good beer too!”

His all-time favourite Aussie pub is a popular Marrickville venue named The Henson.

“The Henson in Marrickville, which is near Henson Park — where the Newtown Jets play and the Swans AFLW team, as well as the Giants. After a game, it just goes off! There’s fantastic food there and just a really good atmosphere!”

He said the key to a great pub is a good bar with lots of different beers on tap and good food.
