Perth’s far-northern corridor continues its growth with Eglinton’s new estate confirming a future Woolworths’ presence.

Land developers Cedar Woods confirmed its Eglinton Village estate shopping centre has reached a new milestone with Woolworths’ development arm Fabcot Pty Ltd purchasing two hectares of land.

Cedar Woods said it received approval from the City of Wanneroo to expand the commercial site from its original one hectare size into a larger neighbourhood sized site that, when complete, will likely be anchored by a Woolworths supermarket and supported by retail and specialty stores of differing sizes and uses.

The shopping centre site, located on the corner of Marmion Avenue and Imperial Entrance, will be adjacent to the proposed feature park at Eglinton Village and within walking distance of the Eglinton train station and future primary school.

Fabcot will be responsible for gaining development approval, and for the construction and development of the site, with timing of completion to be determined.

Cedar Woods WA State manager Ben Rosser said the sale was well received by the developer and important for the rapid growth of the area.

“We are delighted to have facilitated the sale of the land with Fabcot who, with their extensive experience in owning, developing, and managing shopping centres, will no doubt provide quality retail amenities the Eglinton Village residents and surrounding community can enjoy,” he said.

“Our vision for Eglinton Village has always been to create a thriving ‘village’ style community where residents have convenient access to shops, schools and public transport.

“With the Eglinton train station opening just 500m from the estate in July, Eglinton Village has a lot to offer its residents.

”The Eglinton Village Shopping Centre will cater to the needs of Perth’s rapidly growing northwest corridor, with the population in Eglinton alone expected to more than triple to over 24,000 residents by 2046.”
