In what could be an unfortunate end of an unexplored promising talent, Australian batter Will Pucovski is expected to close curtains on his cricketing career after suffering from his 13th concussion earlier this year.

Will Pucovski, 26, burst onto the cricket scene with immense talent and potential. He quickly made a name for himself in domestic cricket in Australia, where he performed impressively, especially in the Sheffield Shield.

He made his Test debut for Australia in 2021 and scored 72 runs in his debut game against India. However, Pucovski’s career has been severely disrupted by a series of concussions that spanned several years.

By the time he stepped into international cricket, Will had been concussed 7 times already. Yet he fought through the setbacks for the sake of his passion for the game.

However, Will Pucovski has been unlucky on that front as he got diagnosed with his 11th concussion in February 2022, followed by a prolonged mental health break. While Will mustered the courage to resume his cricketing journey, the batter got his 13th concussion earlier this year and has been sidelined ever since.

Now, Yahoo Sports has learned that Will Pucovski is likely to quit cricket as his Victorian teammates are increasingly resigned to the idea of Will never playing the sport again.

Cricket Victoria performance chief Graham Manou informed that Pucovski met with an expert panel and that the officials are working towards a better solution.

Not only that, the report further claimed that Cricket Australia could step in to stop Will Pucovski from returning to the sport for the sake of his mental and physical health.
