‘No way’: Cricket world stunned as Marnus pulls off ‘one of the greatest’ catches you’ll ever see

Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne has pulled off a contender for catch of the year during Glamorgan’s T20 Blast match against Gloucestershire in Cardiff on Thursday.

Chasing a 141-run target for victory at Sophia Gardens, Gloucestershire was in early trouble at 4-45 when Ben Charlesworth slapped a full delivery from Glamorgan leg-spinner Mason Crane down the ground.

Labuschagne, sprinting across from long-on, lunged to his right and snatched the ball inches from the turf in a remarkable diving effort. The Queenslander was mobbed by his Glamorgan teammates as Charlesworth departed for 10 (8).

Courtesy of a blistering 70 (48) from Gloucestershire captain Jack Taylor, the visitors clinched a thrilling two-wicket victory after bowler Josh Shaw clobbered the final delivery of the match for six.

Labuschagne, who was earlier dismissed for 18 (15)m has compiled 119 runs at 19.83 during this season’s T20 Blast, scoring 58 (34) during a 19-run loss to Surrey in Cardiff.

Elsewhere in the T20 Blast, Australian fast bowler Sean Abbott claimed a five-wicket haul during Surrey’s 56-run thrashing of Middlesex at Lord’s.

The New South Welshman finished with 5-18 from four overs, the second-best bowling figures of his T20 career, to help restrict Middlesex to 8-129 in the London derby.
