The man killed in an alleged road rage attack in Sydney’s west has been identified as an amateur kickboxer.
Police allege he had got out of his vehicle after being threatened by the car following him and “words were exchanged”.
“It’s devastating and bad for the victim’s family,” Inspector Shane Ranee said at a press conference yesterday.
Harding was a kickboxer who had trained tirelessly and notched his first amateur win this time last year.
His family have not yet commented on his death.
The man behind the wheel of the ute left the scene yesterday, prompting an almost 24-hour search for him and a police appeal for information.
A 39-year-old man, the alleged driver, was arrested today after attending Mount Druitt Police Station about 6.30am today.
No charges have yet been laid.
CCTV released of the incident appeared to show Harding, who was dressed in hi-vis, being dragged alongside the ute before the vehicle left the scene.
