BEST BETS

Flemington Race 2 No 11. Mirzann

Has been solid in his recent runs and this step up in trip looks ideal.

Beau Mertens (54kg)
Chris Waller
4yoG (b) Camelot x Muniza

Randwick Race 4 No.13 It’s A Wonder

It’s A Wonder (13) – the Dundeel daughter of Toorak Handicap winner Allez Wonder – gets way, way back in her races but virtually nothing has finished faster than her in any of them. That includes last start here 14-days ago behind a few of her June 22 rivals. Just needs the stars to align and a good ride!

Tyler Schiller (52kg)
G & S Ryan & Alexiou
3yoF (b) Dundeel x Allez Wonder

Ipswich Race 6 No.3 Golden Decade

A good gate is to the advantage of Golden Decade (3) which hasn’t put in a bad run this preparation and won his only previous start here over this trip. With Ryan Maloney he finds the box seat and will be hard to hold out.

Ryan Maloney (57kg)
Matthew Dunn
3yoG (bay/brown) Sooboog x Sister Emma

BEST VALUE

Flemington Race 9 No 7. Wallenda

Was closing strongly on the worst part of the track last start at Flemington. Looks primed for this third-up.

Ethan Brown (57kg)
Ciaron Maher
3yoC (br) Trapeze Artist x Lady Circles

Randwick Race 8 No.4 Strait Acer

Strait Acer (4) is another horse with some very, very compelling stats. I won’t bore you with them all but one that is worth highlighting is that he has a win and a second from his two Randwick 1400m runs. One of them was a big win in a Mideat, the other was his second in the Provincial Championships Final. Blinkers first time on Saturday.

Tim Clark (57kg)
Edward Cummings
4yoG (b) Headwater x Money Wanted

Ipswich Race 5 No.2 Sailor’s Secret

The track specialist is Sailor’s Secret (2) which has shown he is in good nick placing at both outings since resuming. He rises 3.5kg but hasn’t missed a place in seven starts here winning four and few ride Ipswich better than Jim Byrne.

Jimmy Byrne (60kg)
Kelly Schweida
4yoG (b) Better Than Ready x She Went Wish
