Some of Australia’s most popular pizzas are being recalled from supermarkets across the country after metal was found in them.
The popular McCain brand of frozen pizzas are sold at Woolworths and independent retailers including IGA across Australia.
They are also sold at Coles and Aldi in NSW, ACT, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia, and Drakes in QLD and SA.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand has put out an alert about the recall, warning consumers not to eat the pizzas.
The affected pizzas are McCain Ham & Pineapple Family Pizza 500g, with a best before date reading APR 2025 097, and McCain BBQ Chicken & Pineapple Family Pizza 500g, with best before dates of APR 2025 097 and APR 2025 098.

‘Food products containing metal may cause illness/injury if consumed,’ the recall notice said.
‘Consumers should not eat these products. Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
The latest food recall follows two weeks after a Primo Foods recall of of salami sold at Coles, IGA, and Woolworths due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.
In April, Frisp Oats Peanut Butter 150gm were recalled from all Woolworths stores nationally after it was discovered the packaging lacked a warning that the product contained a milk allergen.
And in March, consumers who had recently bought dumplings and spring rolls sold at Asian grocery stores in several states were urged to check whether they had been recalled over allergy concerns.
