ATP Halle Semifinal Predictions

Jannik Sinner vs Zhizhen Zhang

Head to head – First Meeting

Jannik Sinner must be delighted with the way he has been playing this week. The World No. 1 has been playing like he belongs at the top of the men’s rankings and a hard fought win against Jan-Lennard Struff in a third set tiebreaker will instill even more confidence on the grass in 2024.

Zhizhen Zhang has been having quite the tournament reaching an unprecedented semifinal, and he did it the hard way coming back from a break down in the deciding set in his quarterfinal match. However his fairytale run should end here as Sinner looks too strong to handle for the Chinese from the baseline.
Prediction: Sinner in 2

Hubert Hurkacz vs Alexander Zverev

Head to head – Hurkacz 0-3 Zverev

Hubert Hurkacz yet again finds himself at the back end of a grass court tournament and it will be interesting to see how the Pole fares up against an opponent he’s never beaten before. Hurkacz has looked rock solid in his performances this week and he may well believe he is in with a chance here.

That being said, he faces an in-form Alexander Zverev who has seamlessly transitioned to the grass courts from the clay, and the German is looking in prime position to be in great shape come Wimbledon. He did take three sets in his quarterfinal match but barring that he has finished strong in every match. Expect Hurkacz to be outmaneuvered from the baseline and Zverev possesses enough variety to not let the Pole dictate from the net.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
