A rugby league game stopped because of a stray phone on the field?
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, rugby league fans were left in disbelief after referee Grant Atkins stopped play in the Roosters and Bulldogs’ clash on Saturday night.
A streaker entered the field in the first half at Industree Group Stadium, with Connor Tracey and Sitili Tupouniua giggled to each other as the Dogs fullback waited to play the ball.

Play continued before the Roosters made their way down to their opponent’s line, before Atkins blew his whistle and handed a phone to the Tricolours’ trainer.
Not only will the streaker be going home with a maximum fine of $1,100, she might also have to replace her waterlogged phone.
“We have got a whistle, there’s a phone. An iPhone on the field, and you can only guess where that came from,” Warren Smith said.
Michael Ennis then added: “The lady who has decided to do a 100 metre sprint, she has dropped her phone”.
