Sunday thoroughbred racing is in Hobart this week, where a 10-race program will be run with the rail in the +11m 1800m-1200m; +14m Remainder position.
A fairly cold and wet week in Hobart should ensure the card is run on a soft track.

Best bet
Race 5, No.4 – Agnete
Agnete has returned with two excellent runs over 1200m and looks primed here third-up stepping out to 1400m. The 4YO mare won her maiden at the track and distance, and although she’s drawn 11/11, wide barriers haven’t been a disadvantage at recent Hobart meetings. She’ll be very hard to beat with even luck.
Next best
Race 3, No.3 – Rafael’s Raid
Despite failing to register a placing in his first seven starts, Rafael’s Raid was very well-supported first-up, running up to the market when finishing second after racing wide on speed. A lower draw here should mean a more economical run on the pace, and this maiden arguably looks weaker than what he contested last start. Expect him to be in the finish again.
Best value
Race 1, No.5 – Windara Wolf
I’ll be happy to play each-way Windara Wolf in the opener, following a solid third at his debut run. It’s taken until his 5YO season to hit the racetrack, but there was merit in his only start when leading in what was clearly the worst part of the track on the day. It’s reasonable to expect natural improvement second-up and another good run rolling along on speed.
