Perth feeling FROZEN after suffering coldest morning yet

Must read

You better rug up this morning—Perth got down to a frosty 2.4 degrees about 5am on Monday.

It comes after last week when the city experienced its coldest day in 10 months, only for that record to be broken today — proving that we are well into the depths of winter.

Perth Airport, the Swan Valley and Jandakot were the coldest areas on Monday with temperatures plunging to 2.4 degrees and 2.6 degrees respectively.

Elsewhere in the State, it also reached a chilly 2.9 degrees in Pearce and Bickley reached a low of 7 degrees.

The warmest place to be was away from the mainland on Rottnest Island where it got to 12.5 degrees at 7.30am.

Looking to the regions, Wiluna Airport in the Goldfields reached 1.9C just before 6am, Gingin froze to 0C at 7.24am, the eastern parts of Collie got to 1.5C just before 3am.

Wandering in the Great Southern shivered to a chilly 1.1C and Southern Cross Airport reached just 1C.

There was a chance of morning fog about the Perth hills with frost also likely in the area as well as in the northern suburbs, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The rest of Monday will be partly cloudy reaching a top of 18.
