Round 15 of the 2024 season is now in the rearview mirror leaving every AFL club with 14 games next to their name.

That scenario has compelled us to bring you another edition of the Free Kick Ladder which continues to be a great source of entertainment this year.

Footy fans are constantly pondering the umpiring of the game – which is very tricky to officiate – leaving plenty of unanswered questions.

But some of the questions that can be answered are: Who sits on top of the Free Kick Ladder? Who has the most frees for? Who has the most frees against?

The 2024 Free Kick Ladder – Round 15

Gold Coast remains on top with a differential of +54 courtesy of the most frees for (295) in the league and the third least frees against (241). It feels like Damien Hardwick’s game style is suddenly in vogue with the umpires in 2024.

Essendon sits second on +37 made possible by conceding the least frees against (216).

Brisbane is third on +24 due to the fact they’ve received the fourth most frees for (268). Behind the Lions is Fremantle on +21 and Adelaide on +17 who make up the top five differentials.

At the other end, Richmond is miles off the pace with a discrepancy of -77 having conceded the most frees against (285) and received the least for (208).

Geelong is second bottom on -40 with the second least frees for (213). Third bottom sits GWS on -35 with North Melbourne on -18 and St Kilda on -16 making up the bottom five.
