A Current Affair put to the test with biological age calculator

Must read

An A Current Affair reporter played the role of test subject for the second episode of Nine’s new thought-provoking series Do You Want To Live Forever to help determine her biological age.

Hosted by Tracy Grimshaw and Dr Nick Coatsworth, the program follows four Aussie duos as they undergo medically supervised trials and health interventions that may help wind back the age clock.

Like those on the show, A Current Affair reporter Pippa Bradshaw, 35, was put through her paces through a series of longevity tests to calculate her biological age.

Alongside a number of lifestyle questionnaires, Bradshaw underwent a VO2-max test, which uses a treadmill to measure how well your body and muscles utilise oxygen.

Bradshaw also completed a DEXA scan, which analyses the mix of subcutaneous fat and visceral fat, or fat surrounding your abdominal organs, through an X-ray like scan.

“Biological age is composed of a couple of things, firstly your genetics which you can’t control and then your lifestyle which you can absolutely control,” Coatsworth said.

“I love the Living to 100 calculator out of all the three that we used.

“I think it takes the most information but that also means it gives you the most opportunity to change,” Coatsworth said.

Passing with flying colours, Bradshaw’s results revealed her biological age was even younger than their actual age.

“I’m a year younger, that’s alright!” Bradshaw said.

Do You Want To Live Forever airs on Mondays, right after A Current Affair.
