Judy Murray wrote a scathing post on social media after details of her son, Andy’s surgery were leaked.

After an injury-ravaged year, there are question marks over whether Andy Murray will play at Wimbledon this year, which was already earmarked as his final appearance at SW19.

Reports emerged that an operation on a spinal cyst has ruled the Brit out of Wimbledon, which starts next week.

And it has led to a furious reaction from Murray’s mother Judy, who also insisted that her son could yet still make an appearance.

In response to the reports from the Telegraph on social media site X, Murray wrote: “When your private medical details are leaked to the media by someone you thought you could trust. So disappointing.

“And – FYI – not ruled out yet.”

There has been confusion over whether or not Murray will be fit to play Wimbledon this summer.

The 37-year-old suffered an injury against Jordan Thompson last Wednesday to his back after just 23 minutes on court.

The ATP even posted on X: “After an operation on a spinal cyst, Andy Murray is sadly out of Wimbledon. Rest up and recover Andy, we’ll miss seeing you there.”

However, that post was swiftly deleted after it was made clear that no decision has been made yet.

Murray’s team echoed this and insisted that there was no decision made over his status.

Murray’s team said in a statement: “Following his surgery on Saturday, Andy is continuing to work with his medical team to confirm when he will return to the court.

“At this stage, no decisions have been made and we will update further as soon as anything has been finalised.”

While there remains doubt over whether Murray will be able to make his farewell appearance at the All England Club, the three-time Grand Slam winner is optimistic.

After suffering the injury, he said: “Like all tennis players, we have degenerative joints and stuff in the back but it’s all predominantly been left-sided for me my whole career.

“I have never had too many issues with the right side.

“So maybe there is something that can be done between now and then to help the right side.”

Injuries have hampered his season with an ankle injury causing him issues nearly two months ago, only returning from that problem five weeks ago.

It saw him rush into action at the French Open in May, where he was beaten in straight sets by Stan Wawrinka in the first round.
