With blue skies having offered welcome respite from rainy days and overcast skies, Perth can expect a wet start to hump day as stormy weather looms.
BOM Meteorologist Jessica Lingard suggested the heavens would be re-opening over the city from Wednesday.
“A cold front will cross the west coast tomorrow morning, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the metro area,” Ms Lingard said.
Coastal areas can expect 6-12mm of rain, with 4-8mm expected in eastern suburbs.
Rolling into Thursday, it’s more doom and gloom for those with outdoor plans.
“Thursday will be a wetter day for the metro with a low-pressure system moving in behind the cold front.
“More showers and thunderstorms are likely on Thursday with 15-30mm in coastal areas, 10-20mm for the Eastern suburbs. “
Areas experiencing thunderstorms are expected to receive more severe downpours.
In the back end of the week, Ms Lingard said “2-4mm is possible in the easing showers on Friday before the weather clears and the first day of the school holidays on Monday.”
