SEN’s Dwayne Russell has named the five teams under the most pressure heading into Round 16.
Russell’s pressure meter ranks teams from 1-5, with number one having the most pressure on them and the most to lose heading into the round.
Check out Russell’s pressure meter below.
1. Port Adelaide
vs St Kilda – Marvel Stadium – Sunday
“I’ve got Port Adelaide number one for obvious reasons,” he said on SEN’s Dwayne’s World.
“They’re eighth. They’ve lost their past three.
“They’ve got a coach on the ropes and they’re playing the 14th placed Saints.
“Lose and Port is out of the top eight and it’s, ‘What’s going to happen next?’.
“It’s a no-brainer.”
2. Geelong
vs Essendon – MCG – Saturday afternoon
“I’ve got Geelong at two.
“They started the season 7-0 but they’ve won one of their past seven since.
“They’re now seventh and will be out of the top eight as well if they lose.”
3. Melbourne
vs Brisbane – Gabba – Friday night
“I’ve got Melbourne at three.
“It’s a huge game for the Demons and they’re already ninth right and outside the eight.
“Melbourne’s fans had high higher expectations pre-season than probably Port or Geelong.”
4. Adelaide
vs GWS – Adelaide Oval – Saturday night
“Adelaide are fourth.
“Port losing their past three to slip to eighth just hides the fact that Adelaide has also lost its past three and have slipped the 15th.
“Lose another home game against the Giants on Saturday night and they’ll be probably hoping Port lose on Sunday just to allow the media scrutiny to stay on Port.
“If it wasn’t for Port Adelaide, they would be facing all the media scrutiny.”
5. Western Bulldogs
vs North Melbourne – Marvel Stadium – Saturday
“I’ve got the Dogs at five.
“North are playing some really good footy and the Dogs will jump into the top eight with a win.
“Marcus Bontempelli is a big question mark but even if Bont doesn’t play, they really have to beat North.
“The expectation is now higher on the Dogs than it’s been all season, so they need to get the job done.
“North are in some good form though.”
