Eagle Farm racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:43) Tattersalls Life Members Plate (1200m)
#1 – Abounding @ $3.30
Abounding owns four wins and eight placings from 15 starts, including three wins over the distance.
The three-year-old filly by Rich Enuff doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and she’s good enough to beat this field.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 2. (12:18) Impressu Print Group Tattersalls Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Steel Strike @ $4.20
Steel Strike was too good for them at Canterbury last time out, so we’re picking him to win again.
The two-year-old son of Exceed and Excel won narrowly over Sacred Fort, and although that form didn’t stack up well, it does in Queensland.
Having Tim Clark in the saddle should make him tough to hold out.
Race 3. (12:53) Edward Street BM85 (1200m)
#8 – Pizarro @ $18.00
Pizarro didn’t fire at Eagle Farm last time out, but the five-year-old looked much better prior to that.
The son of All Too Hard won consecutive races at Ipswich, and getting the inside draw could be enough to see him return to winning form.
We’re happy to include him at the current odds.
Race 4. (13:28) Ladbrokes Battle of the Bush Final (1200m)
#3 – Office Jim @ $21.00
Office Jim comes off three consecutive wins, and despite drawing wide, he should prove tough to beat.
The seven-year-old son of Magnus owns 11 wins and 17 placings from 40 starts, so his record is tough to overlook.
It’s always a competitive race, and he should be fighting out the finish.
Race 5. (14:07) HMW Group Tattersalls Gold Crown (2143m)
#4 – Princess Rhaenys @ $2.35
The six-year-old mare was too good for them at Eagle Farm last start, so a repeat could be on the cards.
She is a five-time winner from 25 starts, and she rarely runs a bad race at Eagle Farm, which adds to her appeal.
After opening at $2.70, most of the money has come for her.
Race 6. (14:47) Motorama Tattersalls Cup (2400m)
#4 – Serpentine @ $6.00
Serpentine looked good earlier this preparation with consecutive wins, so he’s a chance if he gets back to that form.
The seven-year-old son of Galileo is bred to enjoy this distance, and we expect Tim Clark to push forward and be tough to run down.
Getting each-way odds make him worth backing.
Race 7. (15:23) Tattersalls Mile (1600m)
#5 – Iknowastar @ $3.50
Iknowastar is seeking his 10th career win, and the son of Star Witness is tough to bet against.
He comes off a third placing behind Freedom Rally in a tough race, and that race was run in record time.
He’s likely to push forward from the draw and give lead them a merry chase.
Race 8. (15:38) Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) – GROUP 1
Read our full Tattersall’s Tiara preview here – including best bets, trifecta and first four picks!
Race 9. (16:35) Eureka Stud W.J. Healy Stakes (1200m)
#14 – Iowna Merc @ $7.50
Iowna Merc is struggling to win races, but we’re not prepared to give up on him.
The four-year-old gelding owns four wins and six placings from 13 starts, so he’s consistent and good enough to beat this field.
Getting in with 54kg means he has every chance to win, and the odds are juicy.
