THE father-and-son training combination of Peter and Paul Snowden will end their successful partnership at the end of July.
Peter Snowden released a statement late on Thursday confirming the training partnership will dissolve at the conclusion of the 2023-24 racing season.
“Paul has a young family to care for and we have mutually decided that it is the right time for him to take a step back and be able to focus on them,’’ Peter Snowden said.
“Since the establishment of Snowden Racing in 2014, we have had some incredible success together and Paul’s contribution to the business will be hugely missed.
“As for Snowden Racing, it will be business as usual at our Royal Randwick and Flemington stables as we continue to strive for success and provide results for our owners.
“We look forward to sharing this with you all in the 2024-25 season ahead.’’
Peter and Paul Snowden have trained more than 1260 winners since forming their partnership a decade ago including the first two runnings of The Everest with Redzel (2017-18) for stable prizemoney of more than $130 million.
They trained 20 Group 1 winners together including the 2016 Golden Slipper with Capitalist, three Inglis Sires with Pride Of Dubai (2015), Invader (2017) and King’s Legacy (2020), and two Champagne Stakes with Kings’ Legacy (2020) and Captivant (2021).
The Snowdens also had great success interstate with Group 1 wins in the Caulfield Guineas (Shooting To Win, 2014), Blue Diamond Stakes (Pride Of Dubai, 2015), VRC Sprint Classic (Redzel), Oakleigh Plate (Russian Revolution, 2018), two Doomben Cups (Huetor, 2022-23) and two Doomben 10,000s (Redzel, 2017, Mazu 2022).
