Every basketball player dreams of reaching the NBA one day. Hearing Adam Silver or Mark Tatum call their name at the NBA Draft is an accomplishment only 60 players (and sometimes fewer) earn each year.
Some players miss that opportunity, but it doesn’t close their door on their dream. Many players are signed to contracts immediately following the NBA Draft, joining rosters on two-way deals or getting a tryout on the Summer League squad.
Either way, the draft is just one way players can reach the NBA. There have been a number of success stories in league history from players who weren’t drafted and instead fought their way in through other avenues.
The Sporting News is tracking all undrafted free agents who sign deals with NBA clubs.
