Son reveals family’s pain after mother-of-three’s alleged DV murder

A mother allegedly murdered at the hands of her partner at Casino in northern NSW has been identified as Sarah Miles.

Her heartbroken son has shared his grief, saying his life will never be the same.

Authorities say the mother-of-three is the 47th woman to lose her life at the hands of what senior police are describing as a nationwide domestic violence crisis.

Her son Shayden Miles spoke exclusively to 9News, saying the whole family is heartbroken.

“Words cannot describe the pain that I am feeling at the moment,” he said.

“My mother was a very strong person, (a) fighter always to the end.

“I’m so proud of her and I’m proud, I’m proud to have her as my mother and I’m proud to have been her son.”

Police are also investigating why their response to the call took almost an hour.

“It’s not just a loss, it’s also dealing with the fact that she was waiting for an hour on the floor and that is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life,” Mr Miles said.

The home in the sleepy town of Casino remains a crime scene.

Ms Miles’ partner, Dwayne John Creighton, has been charged with murder.

9News understands police found Sarah with injuries to her head and cheek.

The official cause of death is still being investigated.

Creighton made no application for bail when he appeared via video link from his holding cell this morning.

Investigators are also reviewing CCTV vision from a nearby petrol station, with sources saying possible acts of alleged violence in the weeks prior to Ms Miles’ death are now being investigated. (Nine)

The 31-year-old will appear before a magistrate in Lismore tomorrow.
