Pakenham racing tips

Race 1. (12:25) Evergreen Turf Maiden (1600m)

#8 – Futatsu @ $1.70

Futatsu is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings, and we’re happy with the short odds to include in multis.

The three-year-old filly by Shalaa opened at $2.10 before big betting support came, so it pays to take the odds before they shorten further.

We can’t see being beaten in the opener.

Race 4. (14:00) Australian Racing Tours Maiden (1000m)

#1 – Bold Print @ $5.00

Bold Print wasn’t too far behind them last preparation, and we’re happy to give him another chance.

The three-year-old gelding by Press Statement ran third on debut before, and he comes off a jumpout placing on the track.

Punters get each-way odds to snap up.

Race 6. (15:00) Ultrasigns BM58 (1200m)

#3 – Unlimited Magic @ $3.80

Unlimited Magic turned her form around when winning at Pakenham last start, and we fancy her chances to win again.

The four-year-old daughter of Impending won narrowly over Dirty Gin, and they battle again in this contest.

We think there is more upside with Unlimited Magic.

Race 7. (15:30) Bet with Mates BM58 (1200m)

#2 – Freak of Nature @ $4.40

Freak of Nature is better than his form suggests, and we’re going to stick with him for another run.

The three-year-old gelding by Snitzel won on debut before rising in class and racing at Sandown, and he was no match for them at Flemington last start.

This is easier, and with a jumpout win under his belt, he should go close.

Gunnedah racing tips

Race 2. (13:20) Mannion Drilling Maiden (1000m)

#12 – Sunyani @ $2.70

Sunyani is taking her time to get off the mark after 13 starts, but she’s good enough to beat this field.

The four-year-old mare by All Too Hard owns three placings, and she comes off a fourth at Tamworth, which is a tidy form guide.

Getting in with 55.5kg makes her tough to get past.

Race 3. (13:55) H & M Refrigeration Maiden (1300m)

#2 – Red Duster @ $2.40

Red Duster is getting close to scoring after three placings from eight starts, including a second placing fresh up at Wyong.

The daughter of Merchant Navy wasn’t far away when fourth at Newcastle last start, and getting an inside draw helps.

Take the shortening odds for a promising type.

Race 4. (14:35) Goodness and Gracious C1 (1000m)

#2 – Calamity Fox @ $6.00

Calamity Fox has changed stables to Colt Prosser, and that could see his form turn around.

He owns a win and four placings from 19 starts, and four of his placings have come for five attempts over the distance.

This race is right up his alley, and we expect him to run close at each-way odds.

Race 6. (15:50) Cool Blue Ice BM82 (1400m)

#8 – Musical Affair @ $3.60

Musical Affair isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but she won well two back at Gulgandra.

The daughter of Your Song owns five wins and 10 placings from 26 starts, including three wins over the distance.

Barrier three with 55kg on her back makes her tough to hold out.
