Scone racing tips
—
Race 2. (12:10) Hoodoo Gurus Maiden (1200m)
#1 – Zealously @ $3.30
Zealously has been backed and beaten throughout his career, but it won’t take him long to win.
The two-year-old colt for Team Snowden comes off a fifth at Warwick Farm, and dropping in class to Scone helps.
If he gets some luck from the wide barrier, he should be the one to beat.
Race 4. (13:20) Temperature Control C1 (1700m)
#11 – Pier Pressure @ $2.00
Pier Pressure drops from open company, and although she’s only a one-time winner, she has class on her side.
She has run behind the likes of Scarlet Oak, Amazonian Lass, and Short Shorts, and this is a much easier assignment.
We expect her odds to firm to around $1.50 on race day, so jump on the odds.
Race 6. (14:35) Taste the Coast Maiden (1300m)
#12 – Everybody Rise @ $2.70
Everybody Rise comes off a second placing at Randwick, and that form measures up nicely at Scone.
The Snowden-trained two-year-old looks to have plenty of ability, and we like the way he fought bravely last time out.
He needs luck from the draw, but he’s the best runner in the race.
Race 8. (15:45) Buterin L’estrange BM64 (900m)
#1 – Curl Curl @ $3.10
Curl Curl has been in excellent form this preparation, including two wins from his last three starts.
The three-year-old won by 1.5 lengths last time out in heavy conditions, and he doesn’t mind any track conditions.
Getting 2kg off his back helps, and punters should be happy with the odds available.

Race 1. (12:00) Sassi Group Maiden (1300m)
#1 – Cultural Spirit @ $4.20
Cultural Spirit is on debut for the Busuttin/Young stable, and he comes off an impressive trial win.
The two-year-old son of Vancouver won the trial by 1.8 lengths, and it’s good to see money come for him after opening at $4.80.
He could firm into favouritism, so take the odds now.
Race 4. (13:30) GD & SI O’Sullivan Builders Maiden (1600m)
#10 – Sea of Lights @ $2.10
Betting support is with Sea of Lights, who owns four placings from seven career starts.
The three-year-old filly by Pride of Dubai did well to run third fresh up at Ballarat, and the improvement in track conditions helps.
After opening at $2.90, her odds have been significantly trimmed.
Race 6. (14:30) RMBL Investments Rising Stars BM64 (1425m)
#6 – Princeofnottingham @ $3.60
Consistency is with Princeofnottingham, who is already a two-time winner this preparation.
The four-year-old gelding by Pierro won at Wangaratta two back before placing at Seymour last time out, which is a good form guide.
Getting 1.5kg off his back with Tom Prebble riding helps his cause.
Race 7. (15:00) RMBL Investments Rising Stars BM64 (1425m)
#2 – Magarten @ $3.30
Magarten owns two wins and eight placings from 16 career starts, and that makes him tough to beat.
The four-year-old son of Maurice doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and getting 2kg off should see him go close.
Getting $3.30 for a runner of his ability makes him tough to ignore.
